Standards IX

The multimedia teacher has the knowledge and skills needed to teach the Foundations, Information Acquisition, and Work in Solving Problems, Communication strands of the Technology Applications Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) in multimedia, in addition to the content described in Technology Applications Standards I-V.

Multimedia has always been very appealing to me. I feel that integration of all technologies makes a superior product and the more bells and whistles the better. Multimedia is probably the only course of study that incorporates all other technology courses into one overall presentation.

Reflection:

I was fairly confident in Multimedia before this course. I feel that I have improved my web integration and I have been able to create much more interactive and exiting projects than I have before. I feel that it has greatly impacted my overall performance.

Artifact 12- CouplingBEST WORK

Descriptors: This project was designed to incorporate sound, animation, graphics and web capabilities. I wanted to make the animation interactive and so I added additional buttons to advance your way through the animation, however the sound continues to play. I chose the audio, because that is the song used in the credits of the show. I choose the graphics to be bright and more of a 60's color palate to add visual interest and they are also consistent with the show's style.

Title: Favorite Television Show Multimedia Project - Coupling

Course: Multimedia

Date Created: March 11, 2003

Source: The content and graphics were derived from:

http://www.bbcamerica.com/genre/comedy_games/coupling/coupling_about.jsp

http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/coupling/episodes/clips_s3.shtml

http://www.friends-tv.org/

The sounds I used came from:

MP3.com

Dailywav.com

Media: I used Flash MX, Photoshop, Adobe Go Live, Microsoft Word, and Cool Edit

Description: I really like the show "Coupling." I find the overall graphic quality of the opening credits rather brilliant and so I followed that lead.

Rationale: This site displays my ability to incorporate many media types into one site. The animation is self contained in an SWF file, therefore allowing the user to never have to leave the main page and alleviating much of the issues of linking. The music is imbedded in the file and therefore plays without interruption when that scene of the animation is activated by the user.

Implications for future: I enjoyed this project very much and I would like to incorporate a similar project into my classroom. I think everyone wants others to like the same things that they do and integrating persuasive material into the site is an excellent idea

Reviewers Comments:

I enjoyed your site. Storyboard was well-done. I like the visual orientation of it. Next time, you might also include links if you think that would be helpful. That's basically how commercial sites will do "site maps."

As for the Flash presentation, what can I say except "Wow?" I wish I had the expertise to create this stuff. Your works really well. I like the sound clip on the mouseovers. Impressive work.

Loved your selection of content. Not many people know about this show.
