Reflection

Communication is key to all human interaction and learning. Every human is an individual and as individuals we have different reactions to stimuli based on our experiences. As educators we must adapt to the learning styles of our students in order to maximize the experience of the learner. In interacting with students I have found that you must be as clear and concise as possible in order for them to understand the concept where as when you are introducing a subject to adults, such as other educators you can use more advanced vocabulary and terminology. At any rate we must determine our audience and adapt the message to fit that audience. I have learned through my experience in the classroom what students understand and what is too complicated for them. This year has taught me a great deal about simplification of messages and adaptation based on need.

Description: This is a basic Rubric for evaluating web sites.  We were assigned to create a rubric to easily compare and contrast sites in their use as educational tools and to compare and contrast different Web Author’s use of basic rules of design and easy of usefulness.

Rationale: I created a chart to make the evaluation process easier. I wanted it to be simple and easy to use.  I wanted it to be rather plain and to the point.

Implications for future: This could be used as a class project.  Students must be able to understand how a rubric works and how they are to be evaluated as well as how to evaluate others.

Reviewers Comments: I thought this was any easy way to look at web sites.  However, I feel that there could be a big difference between a 1 and 10.
